- American Bar Association: provides a state-by-state listing for state and local bar associations, which often provide referral lists of lawyers taking pro bono cases.
- American Civil Liberties Union local affiliates (searchable by state) handle requests for legal assistance, lobby the state legislatures and host public forums throughout the year.
- The Community Organization Representation Project (CORP) is a project of the Volunteer Legal Services Program, the pro bono project of The Bar Association of San Francisco dedicated to meeting the needs of low-income people in San Francisco and the Bay Area.
- Green Pro Bono is a non-profit pro bono organization that connects green social entrepreneurs in need of legal help with attorneys who want to offer their legal expertise to help reduce climate change.
- LawHelp helps low and moderate income people find free legal aid programs in their communities, providing free legal information and referrals by state.
> Pro Bono Net (creator of LawHelp) provides resources for pro bono and legal services attorneys and others working to assist low income or disadvantaged clients.
- Legal aid offices provide legal assistance to those who are unable to afford law representation. Pine Tree, a legal aid organization in Maine, provides a list of legal aid offices by state.
- Lawyers Alliance of New York provides a list of nationwide business and transactional legal Pro Bono Service Providers for Nonprofits.
- Lex Mundi Pro Bono Foundation, the nonprofit affiliate of Lex Mundi, matches select social entrepreneurs with pro bono legal assistance. The Foundation launched the LawForChange website in 2006.
- Online Media Legal Network (OMLN) by the Citizen Media Law Project links qualifying online journalism ventures and other digital media creators in the U.S. to pro bono legal services.

- Pro Bono Partnership provides pro bono business legal services to nonprofit agencies in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.
- Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta (PBP-ATL) links nonprofit agencies to pro bono legal services in Metropolitan Atlanta.
- TrustLaw Connect is a global hub for free legal assistance and news and information on anti-corruption.
- Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (VLA) provides free or cheap legal help for members of the arts community. The New York VLA has a directory of the VLA offices across the country.
